Wicker Park in the Afternoon

The shoes create the appearance of long, lean feet, reminiscent of a 19th Century college physics professor.

The pattern's incongruence intrigues the eye.

The hat is straight out of a Holland village. Look familiar? It is similar to Pinocchio's.

The length of the crisp white shirt adds dimension. The v-neck shirt compliments the v-cut cowboy boots. Yet, there is pleasant conflict between the classy and rugged styles.

The caramel tones and shaggy style add dimension to his cut.

She looks like an edgy Scarlett Johansson. I love the choppy, asymmetric cut with underlying cream color.

I was drawn to the cobalt blue. It makes the outfit pop.

Shin guards must have inspired these boots. They look futuristic and straight out of the 2005 movie Aeon Flux.

The bleach blonde hair matches the 60s inspired coat. The mod style is complete with an A-line silhouette, large buttons and Peter Pan collar.

The latest headband craze references the Native American headdress.

Try a 70s spin on the headdress rage. This would look perfect with long locks.

Chicago March 15

The Chicago elevated tracks (EL) brings many offbeat characters. Turn back the hands of time and revisit the 1970s. He sports a face-framing cut, beard, knit skull cap, distressed military jacket and large retro headphones. He is a modern day beatnik.

A black skinny jean with large shoes exaggerates proportion. Something about his style is similar to Ricky’s from Season 4 of "Project Runway."

Gray v-neck sweaters call on grand-papa as inspiration. A crisp, white collared shirt counteracts the casual feel.

The contrasting colors cause each layer to pop.

This American Apparel Sales Associate sports peep-toe tights under buckled flats. The comfy, layered cotton hugs the body, reminiscent of a ballerina's workout ensemble. Adding a thick, white belt to the waist acts as a closure for the unbuttoned grandpa sweater. Open v-neck sweaters and vests have been spotted on the runway with belt accessories.

This Barney's NY employee is cocooned in a cashmere wrap sweater and studded leather belt. The sweater's feminine curved lines contrast with the belt's masculine shape and texture, exciting the eye. The African beads complement the belt, both of tribal reference.

The shapeless sweater-vests references 1970s granny style. The painted-on spandex leggings are shin in the distance. The vest and necklace make the silhouette very long.

Her perky attitude transcends to her clothing. The chunky buckles on her yellow heels dramatize the classic look. The high collar, large pockets and numerous buttons modernize the trench.

STREET FASHION: FROM CHAMPAIGN TO CHICAGO

The sweater looks as if straight from Grandpa's bureau.

The mustache brings up scenes of tractor pedaling while the motorcycle jacket visits windblown sunsets en route to Arizona.

The dove necklace and 1960s white flats evoke a sense of serenity.

Vintage brown jacket craves the accompaniment of a motorcycle.

The floral design and girly colors contrast the rough southern cowboy boots. Take a journey back to grade school, looping strips of construction paper together to create colorful decor. Imagine draping this around the neck. This scarf evokes these innocent childhood memories.

The gray fedora and distressed boots add a male-chic appeal to the French femme. Strikingly light blue jeans contrasts with the dark-brown boots. This British babe wears a suspended skull and crossbone belt, turning previous Steve Urkel look into an urban-chic masterpiece.

He looks as if he walked out of bed, grabbed some dirty clothes off the floor and ran out the house. This senior looks like The Hills' Justin Bobby. Jean jackets are staging a comeback along with light colored blue jeans. Large rectangular framed glasses are a steal from Grandpa's nightstand.
